The problem of science and education integration is currently topical for the Russian society. The needs of the society and the state and the socio-economic mechanisms of social development determine the transformations in current research and education models, promote the integration of educational and scientific institutions in order to encourage young specialists to pursue science. The article is aimed at describing the implementation of one of the forms of science and education integration, which contributes to the training of highly qualified personnel and, hence, the development of regional and municipal territories. It is realized at the Researchand-Education Center. The article proves the urgency of the problem, lists the main types of science and education integration in the world and their distinctive features. It substantiates the importance of the Research-and-Education Center of the Institute of Socio-Economic Development of Territories of RAS for cooperation with higher education institutions. This activity meets the modern requirements of the new educational standard. The article describes the experience of encouraging students to pursue science, reveals the significance of this activity in the training of a graduate and involving him/her to continue learning in selected economic direction. The article presents the dynamics of the universities’ interest in cooperation with the Researchand-Education Center of the Institute of Socio-Economic Development of Territories of RAS and concludes that the Institute of Socio-Economic Development of Territories of RAS has developed a productive system of work with students of institutes in the Vologda Oblast and Vologda, as well as substantiates the necessity to continue this work as a propaedeutic to the next stage of higher education (postgraduate). The article describes forms of work and results of the Research-and-Education Center’s activity. It reveals the system of measures for creating a common space for the education and science development, combining to single out talented young people and promote their professional growth and creative potential realization
